Is the world ready for a new James Bond? According to Denzel Washington, he certainly would love to take on the role of Bond, James Bond in any future Bond films. Move over Daniel Craig, it seems that Washington has his sights set on your job. Of course, it doesn’t seem that Hollywood is looking to recast their favorite Bond anytime soon, it’s just a position that Denzel would gladly accept if ever it were offered to him.
“The next James Bond? They better hurry up! Yes, I would! Who’s doing James Bond now…Daniel Craig? Did they shoot another one? Everybody should tweet Denzel is James Bond. Send it to the studio. Denzel Bond,” he said to fans during a Reddit AMA on Friday when he was asked by a fan whether or not he’d be on board to play the role of James Bond.
However, doing a Bond movie as the lead character is not the only thing that Denzel has on his Hollywood bucket list. According to the beloved actor, he’d also like to host Saturday Night Live, and he’d like to create a remake of Uptown Saturday Night with actor Will Smith, which is something they’ve allegedly been discussing for some time now.
Additionally, during his interview, Washington also told fans he found it very embarrassing to be named People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 1996. It’s been 18 years since, and he’s still embarrassed when he thinks about how much it embarrassed him back then. However, he also admitted that he still wants to be the Sexiest Man Alive, and that he was not willing to give up his title way back when the newest Sexiest Man Alive was announced a year after his own title was given.
